ASU Local, los angeles

Launched in 2019, ASU Local’s inaugural site in downtown Los Angeles was founded to bring high-quality bachelor’s degree options to all college-eligible Los Angeles students who are rooted in their community. The program aims to empower you to thrive, grow and have an impact on the places that are important to you from a personal and cultural perspective.

The ASU Local experience is designed to guide first-year and transfer students every step of the way through their bachelor’s degree journey.

LRNG: Connecting Youth to Opportunity Through Digital Badges

This video highlights the groundbreaking LRNG platform I helped develop, which empowers young people to discover and access learning opportunities throughout their communities. By earning digital badges through both online and real-world experiences, youth build portfolios of skills and competencies that connect directly to educational advancement and career pathways. The platform exemplifies my approach to designing learning ecosystems that blend technology with real-world application, creating joyful pathways to opportunity for all learners.

design thinking lab, los angeles

The D3 Lab is one part idea lab, one part design thinking and production facility, and one part “do tank.” It is a place where students come to nurture and cultivate ideas, tackle big and small problems, and take action. Programs take place during school, after school, in classrooms, in outdoor spaces, in the community, and in the D3 Lab itself.

puentes educativos, Chile

Puentes Educativos aims to help improve the quality of learning of children in 5th and 6th grade primary municipal schools in Chile. To achieve this, the program uses four components: the use of digital educational resources, mobile internet, an educational strategy focused on the learner and training among teachers.

How do we organize this type of learning experience so that there is both structure and flexibility? How can this type of project experience incorporate rigorous assessment and target Common Core standards? These questions were at the heart of the Design Thinking Creative Methods and Practices workshop.
